I am a fully licensed real estate agent working independently across Nelson and Tasman, without affiliation to a traditional real estate company or franchise. I was first licensed as a salesperson in 2000 and achieved full Agent status (AREINZ) in 2009. From 2008, I owned and operated my own real estate businesses, managed sales teams and worked across every part of the property sales process. From around 2012, I also became increasingly involved in property and land development, giving me a broader understanding of how property projects are conceived, funded, managed and brought to market. Although I am legally able to list and sell property, I am not currently focused on actively seeking listings. My main priority is the continued development and launch of Yelsa, a new way of connecting serious buyers with homeowners before properties necessarily reach the open market. I am also using the platform as an agent, working directly within the system and testing the experience from the perspective of buyers, homeowners and real estate professionals. This allows me to see what works, identify what can be improved and better understand how Yelsa can support everyone involved in a property transaction. I believe technology can significantly reduce the cost of marketing and selling property while allowing agents to concentrate on the areas where their experience creates the greatest value: nurturing buyers and sellers, negotiating, preparing and managing contracts, managing the sales process and guiding transactions successfully through to settlement. Agents are the heart of a property transaction. They manage the people, the process and the emotions, allowing the other professionals involved to do their work without the unnecessary distractions created by heightened human emotion.
